Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know about our upcoming “Summer Chorus” concert, in which we’ll be performing a lot of great music such as a Cole Porter medley, a selection from Elgar’s “Hungarian Dances,” “Jubilate Deo” by Lasso, and “Begin my Soul” arranged by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw.
Our main piece will be Pergolesi’s “Magnificat” in which yours truly will be the soprano soloist! I’m really excited about this– although I’ve sung a solo with Summer Chorus before (”The Secret Garden” medley) and a solo with the Flint Hills Masterworks Chorale on our European tour (”Esto Les Digo”) this will be my first solo in a real choral “master work.”
But regardless of my small moment of glory, this is going to be a great concert! I’m delighted to be working with such a great group of singers and musicians and am looking forward to F.H.M.C. rehearsals starting up again in the fall!
